Jesus H. Christ people can we stop vilifying and belittling Orihime for crying out for help in Las Noches?! 

Put yourself in the poor girl’s shoes: she’s been mentally and physically abused by her captors (and I will forever loathe that stupid omake that depicts her smiling at Ulquiorra in the Unmasked databook because if ever there was a time Kubo contradicted himself that was it, because after all that shit he puts her through while she’s his captive, I cannot even fathom why Orihime would act so cheerfully around him), she’s in the middle of a horrible fight where her friends are being torn to shreds, Ishida’s lost an arm and looks like he’s about to be killed, Ichigo’s literally dead and they are both- to her mind- so much stronger than her and she’s got no hope left. So she breaks down. She is sixteen and she has a breakdown, and it’s a completely normal reaction to have in that situation.

And after that, when Ichigo’s resurrected into this ghoulish, animalistic parody of everything that he stands for, when she hears what’s left of him mindlessly chanting his desire to save, she realises that it’s her fault and she is appalled at her own actions. She berates herself for being so weak that she needed him to come and save her. Comparing her to Aarronierro at this point is downright absurd, because Aarronierro at this point is having a tantrum. He’s been arrogant and cruel and thoroughly convinced that he’s going to curbstomp Rukia, convinced he’s pulled off the mother of all mindfucks on her, and then she has the audacity to kick his ass. He’s throwing a tantrum, and deserves to die an undignified death in a puddle on the floor. That is not the same as having a panic attack because the boy you love, the unstoppable heroic boy you love, has just been brutally murdered before your eyes and your only remaining chance of escape has had his arm destroyed and it’s all happening so fast, you can’t stop it and it’s all too much and it’s suddenly all on you and you don’t know what to do to stop it-

You know who else is shown to have a moment of panic against an enemy they think they have no chance against?

Rukia.

It’s not exactly the same. Rukia’s actions are different, she doesn’t call for help. But you know what: Rukia is a trained soldier while Orihime is not. And even then, in the face of the person she cares most about in the world dying, she herself believes she acted selfishly, and she then spends forty years believing that she deserves to die for her actions. Does she? Of course not. Does Orihime deserve to be treated like scum because she was terrified and panicking? Of course not!

For the record: I’m not an Ichihime shipper. I don’t think The Lust Arc is something to be glorified as the romantic be-all and end-all for their ship, I think it’s a clusterfuck for everyone involved, but I am sick to death of people turning Orihime into something loathsome because she has a very human moment of weakness in a dire situation. 

When even non IchiHime shippers can see that these comparisons are pure misogynistic, hateful and de-humanizing shit made to make Orihime look like shit , you know there’s something deeply WRONG with the people who have spent years treating a woman who is in one of her lowest points ever as if she’s a whore for needing help and asking for it.

Also, IIRC she’s not even begging him to save her. She’s asking him to help her think her way out of a totally unwinnable battle, where the guy who mentally and pyschologically tortured her is about to kill/torture/crush her and Ishida. And you know, even if she WAS begging for him to save her, I wouldn’t blame her. Again, she and Ishida are almost alone against a guy who’s MUCH more powerful than both of them, and she’s at her limit after all the shit that the HM arc was for her. And people still bash her for acting like a human being would?! After how she was totally broken in all senses?!

Fuck them, their impossibly high standards for fictional/real women, and their misogyny. 

“Deathberrykisses”, surely you wouldn’t expect anyone that is not an IchiRuki fan to post such Orihime bashing these days.

Do you guys remember when Kubo tweeted that the more Orihime hate he sees, the more he puts her in the manga to piss people off?

The same people who, like the 300+ poor IchiRuki fans who think they are so right for bashing Orihime over the same dead horse for 4 years, don’t realize that they really don’t understand shit about Tite Kubo and his love for his characters. All of them.

But I find it funny that according to a huge amount of IR fans, asking someone for help is wrong. Basically, if someone assaults you on the street, you can’t scream for help because remember, IchiRuki fans on the internet said it’s wrong. So fuck common sense, if you scream for help you’re a selfish, insane, useless attention-whore.
